According to the agreement, Shenzhen Chiwan port and airlines will invest RMB 24.65 billion yuan in China merchants and acquire 1.269 billion shares of China Merchants Port, equivalent to 38.72% of the shares to pay for the acquisition, Shenzhen Chiwan will issue 1.148 BN A-shares, or 64.05 percent, to China Merchants Group. Upon completion of the restructuring, China Merchants Group will indirectly hold 87.8 percent of Chiwan in Shenzhen and will remain the ultimate controlling shareholder of China Merchants Port.
